Description
What is the Scotch Malt Whiskey Society (SMWS)
The Scotch Malt Whiskey Society was founded in Edinburgh in 1983 by Phillip ‘Pip’ Hills, who traveled through Scotland in the 1970s and fell in love with whiskey straight from the cask. After convincing a few friends to buy a cask of Glenfarclas, he expanded his circle and in 2004 the Society was purchased by Glenmorangie PLC.
There is a unique code system where the first number refers to the distillery and the second refers to the cask the bottle came from. SMWS also offers the largest selection of distilleries of any independent bottler.
This series is Nikka Yoichi Single Malt Whiskey which was brought onto the market by the independent bottler Scotch Malt Whiskey Society SMWS.
