About Black Maple Hill Small Batch Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Black Maple Hill was launched in 2000 by CVI Brands, an importer and bottler from San Carlos, California. Initially, the whiskey came from several legendary Kentucky bourbon producers that included some of the most coveted Stiltzel-Weller whiskey said to have been bottled by the legendary Julian Van Winkle III.
As stocks of old whiskey dried up, Black Maple Hill dropped the age statement, eventually securing their stock from Kentucky Bourbon Distillers.
Aged in American white oak and bottled at 95 proof, this expression is a sour-mash bourbon that was produced in small batches and features a classic bourbon profile with baking spice, oak, caramel, toffee, and hints of nuts.
