The world’s first single barrel bourbon was created in 1984 by Elmer T. Lee. Named after former distillery president Colonel Albert B. Blanton.

Elmer recalled how Colonel Blanton would sometimes handpick a ‘honey barrel’ from the center of Warehouse H to enjoy with others.  Many years later, the Blanton’s brand was created.

Today, Blanton’s Single Barrel has become one of the most revered and award-winning bourbons on the market.

The Gold Edition was the second version created, after the Original 93 proof.  This 103 proof Blanton’s Gold is very limited, but a favorite among discerning bourbon aficionados.

Strong vanilla on the nose with dried fruit, dark chocolate, honeyed notes and cereal. The palate is rich with caramel, charred oak and subtle peppery spice. The finish is lingering and pleasantly sweet.
What is special about Blanton’s gold?

What’s the difference between Blanton’s Gold and regular?
A high-proof version of Blanton’s Original needed to be made, and it comes in form of Blanton’s Gold Edition bottled at 51.5% ABV (compared to 46.5% ABV of Blanton’s Original).
Is Blanton’s Gold hard to get?
They are aged 6-8 years and have a higher rye content. Blanton’s is all about quality and only produces a limited amount, which is what makes them so hard to obtain.
