Description
The infamous Hakushu 25 is an exemplary Japanese single malt, recognised by whisky enthusiasts the world over.
This is a graceful balancing act between its many types of new- make – some of which is peated – and its restrained use of sherry-seasoned oak. In the glass we find, toffee apple, rhubarb soda, walnut oil and peat smoke.
This is the oldest Hakushu that the distillery has ever produced: Hakushu 25 Years Old!
From Suntory’s mountain distillery, found deep within the forests of Mount Kaikomagatake Hakushu is owned by Suntory, founders of the first Japanese distillery, Yamazaki. The original Hakushu distillery was built in 1973, with another distillery building called Hakushu Higashi (west) added in 1981.
This rare 25 year old has been lauded from all corners of the whisky world from the Malt Maniacs to Jim Murray.

Very floral, citrus fruits, oolong tea leaves, passion fruits and pineapple.

Apple, very fruity and peaty, melons, papaya, old tools and leathers, classic old liquor, sour and floral, a lot of tannins.
