The limited-edition 2021 release of Ichiro’s Malt & Grain Japanese blended whisky from the ever-popular Chichibu is a fruity, complex whisky with notes of dried fruit, juicy plums, baking spices and peppery oak throughout the palate.
Ichiro’s Malt is a brand created in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto, founder of the Chichibu distillery and Venture Whisky, the company in charge of marketing the brand.
Ichiro Akuto, having recovered the remaining casks of Hanyu, his grandfather’s distillery, has shown his imagination by proposing a very varied range from young single malts from Chichibu to blended malts from Double Distilleries or exclusive bottlings of Hanyu’s single malts.
He has also let his creativity speak through whiskies blended with imported casks from carefully selected distilleries such as Ichiro’s Malt & Grain which can be classified as a Japanese World Whisky.
Only 500 bottles of the award-winning whisky have been produced, and they can be enjoyed at whisky bars and elsewhere in Chichibu. Some of the product will be shipped to domestic and overseas markets in future.
