About O.F.C. Vintage 1996 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
The O.F.C. Vintages from today’s Buffalo Trace Distillery honor the distillery’s origins. Buffalo Trace Distillery was established as a O.F.C. distillery back in 1870 by Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. and it was the most state-of-the-art distillery of its era.
Even though its initials stand for Old Fashioned copper, it was an innovative distillery that was the first to use a special steam heating system, still used in the distillery’s aging warehouses today. The Vintages is a tribute to the distillery’s beginnings, and each bottle looks and tastes the part.
Distilled back in 1996, The O.F.C. Vintage 1996 is a full-bodied liquid with the most complex flavor imaginable, exhibiting notes of caramel, cherry, and slightly-smoked oak with a long and lingering finish. It is bottled at an ABV of 45% in a hand-cut crystal masterpiece.
