Distilled in 2003 from Minnesota rye, Kentucky corn, and North Dakota malted barley, the sour-batch whiskey spent 18 years and 6 months in new American white oak casks (no.4 char) sourced from Independent Stave in Lebanon, KY.
It was finally bottled in 2021 at 90 proof, making for a mature and flavor-packed expression with notes of apple, herbs, anise, maple syrup, cocoa, coffee, and dates. The expression pays tribute to the Sazerac Coffee House that gained fame for creating the Sazerac cocktail.
