The Yamazaki 1984 is a limited edition whisky to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Yamazaki and the 110th anniversary of parent company, Suntory. It is aged in Japanese oak, with only 2800 bottles available, each individually numbered.
Suntory is the oldest whisky making company in Japan. Its origins stretch back to a small shop, started in 1899 by Torii Shinjiro, which specialized in selling imported wines. Today, it is the country’s largest and most recognizable producer of quality whisky.
This particular Suntory Yamazaki Single Cask was distilled in 1984 and aged in a Spanish Sherry Cask before being bottled in 2002. Presented in a box with 264 bottles ever released. This is a rare one!
This whiskey is an excellent choice for whiskey lovers. It has a smooth, sweet taste that is perfect for sipping. There is more complexity than many other whiskies, with a distinct oaky flavor and hints of fruit and citrus and a lingering sweet finish. The aroma is rich and earthy with a hint of smokiness.
